This is your chance to learn the inner workings of an NBA Pro Dance team, hear what coaches are looking for during auditions, and get all of your questions answered LIVE!
Meet your NBA Directors!
Toya Ambrose
Head Coach, Chicago Luvabull
Toya Renee Ambrose is the Head Coach of the dance teams for the Chicago Bulls - the Luvabulls and the all-male hip hop team, the 312 Crew. She was a member of two NBA teams, the Chicago Luvabulls and the Memphis Grizzlies. Toya is the owner of T.R.A. Choreography LLC and alongside Shandon Perez, she is co-founder of Tone Society.
Sumer Meyer
Director, Phoenix Suns Dancers
Sumer Meyer is a Phoenix native and danced for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. After retirement, she returned to the Suns to coach the Suns Dancers. After four seasons with the Suns Dancers, she started Directing all of the Suns Entertainment teams, hosts and DJ’s.
Amy Jo Johnston
Manager, Denver Nuggets Dancers
Amy Jo Johnston danced for 2 seasons with AFL AZ Rattlers Sidewinders, 6 seasons with the NBA Phoenix Suns Dancers, and 7 seasons with the WNBA Phoenix Mercury Hip Hop Squad. Amy Jo now has a full-time position with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment.
Ashley Kelson
Director, Utah Jazz Dancers
Ashley danced for the Utah Jazz for 5 NBA seasons all while pursuing her degree in Business. After dancing Ashley stayed in the sports world while working on the business side for the Utah Jazz. With Ashley’s unique perspective of the NBA from both a business standpoint and as a dancer, she was given the opportunity to be the Director of the Utah Jazz Dancers.
